Description:
The body depth is 2.6–3.6 times the standard length (SL). The maxilla lacks a distinct lobe on its edge and there is no toothed hypomaxilla. The swim bladder has a single long tube that extends posteriorly down the right side of the body cavity above the base of the anal fin.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
Found in river Meghna and its branches. Fairly common in Chandpur during rainy season.

It is an anadromous fish. Also found in marine environment
