It has elongated with depressed head. Mouth is inferior or ventral. Four pairs of barbels are present. Abdominal vertebrae 17-20. Caudal fin is deeply forked. Body color greenish or olivaceous to rich tan or brown. Caudal fin is yellowish gray in color. Pelvic and pectoral fins with black spots. Anal with a broad black-colored band. Fin formula: D. I/6; P1. I/13; P2. 6; A. 11-13; C. 16.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
Occurs in Surma, Kangsha, old Brahmaputra, Titas and the Karnafuli reservoir.
