Description:
The body is robust and large, with a deeper pre-dorsal than post-dorsal region. The head is slightly depressed with a rounded snout. The eyes are large and positioned near the top of the head, closer to the tip of the snout than to the end of the operculum. The caudal fin features transverse bands, and males have a suborbital flap. An axillary pelvic lobe is also present.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
Found in streams and small rivers, particularly in areas with open sand, mixed cobbles, rocks, and boulders.
