Description:
It has a small mouth with short jaws and loses its scales easily. Barbels are absent. Dorsal fin has no stiff spines but has 9 to 11 soft rays. Anal fin is also spineless and has 10 to 12 soft rays. Lateral line curved with 36-40 scales. Mouth is inferior; Caudal fin is forked. A lateral streak on the sides. Fins dark yellow and belly yellowish-silvery.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
Occur in rivers and stream.
