Description:
The head length is greater than the head width, with an obtusely pointed snout that is slightly depressed. The nostrils are lateral and closer to the tip of the snout than to the eyes. The skin is smooth except for granular areas on the lower half of the loreal region and the ventral-posterior surface of the thigh. Small tubercles are present in the temporal and tympanic regions, with no humeral gland. There is a sac-like gular pouch at the corner of the throat. The forearm is robust, and the tips of all four fingers are expanded with circum-marginal grooves. The hind limbs are moderately robust.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
It inhabits forest floors, freshwater wetlands, ponds, paddy fields, ditches, canals etc. It is distributed widely in the Southeast region of Bangladesh.
