Description:
It has a large, flattened head with a pointed snout. The dorsal surface is olive-brown, while the ventral surface is white. There are four yellowish lateral bands, with two running along each side from the snout to the end of the trunk. The lower side of the thigh is marbled with whitish and dark brown patterns. Its toes are webbed.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
It inhabits marsh edges, swamps, ponds, streams, and other water bodies with aquatic vegetation. The species has been reported from Kabongpuria of Khagrachari and Baghaichari of Rangamati Districts, as well as in the Rema Kalenga Wildlife Sanctuary in Northeastern Bangladesh.
