Description:
The head is flat and triangular with a pointed snout. The skin is smooth, with the dorsal surface showing olive-brown, brown, or yellowish-green hues with dark markings. During the breeding season, males turn bright yellow. Longitudinal folds are present on the back, often accompanied by a pale mid-dorsal line. The fingers are free, and the toes are long and fully webbed.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
It inhabits freshwater wetlands, ponds, rivers, ditches, canals etc. It is distributed widely throughout Bangladesh.
