Description:
The shell is of moderate size, elongated, and dense, featuring a rounded but blunt tip. It widens gradually, displaying raised spiral ridges. The spire is short and slightly protruding, with distinct, rounded coils adorned with closely spaced spiral ridges and tiny longitudinal lines. The coils overlap at the suture. The main body coil is rounded and adorned with spiral lines. The opening of the shell is somewhat circular, with thin lips lacking any protrusions, and the outer lip is razor-sharp. Inside, the lip is hardened. The exterior color is dark, marked by raised spiral lines. On average, the shell measures 20mm in length, 8mm in width, with an aperture length and width of 9mm and 4mm, respectively.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
Widespread almost in all the districts of Bangladesh. Found in most freshwater bodies from rivers, streams, and lakes to drainage ditches, irrigation canals, cemented tanks, swamps and paddy fields.
