Description:
The body is short, broad and fleshy, lacking any internal segmentation. The scolex is nearly globular with a circular sucker on top. The body surface is protected by a very thick cuticle, and the body proper is divided into an outer cortex and inner medulla by two layers of longitudinal muscles.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
It is an endoparasite of common clariid catfishes, penetrating the stomach and intestine of the host fish and forming nodules. It is found throughout Bangladesh.
