Description:
It is a small worm with two pairs of eyespots and a rounded pharynx. The crura are confluent posterior to the testis, forming a small backward-directed protrusion. There are 17 pairs of hooks with handles. The dorsal anchors have a short, massive inner root and a long, sabre-shaped point. The dorsal connective bar is massive, slightly concave backward with wide ends.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
It is host-specific and an obligate parasite of cyprinid fishes. It reaches sexual maturity within the gill filaments of the fish. It is widely distributed in Bangladesh.
