Description:
It is a small worm without eyespots. It has 7 pairs of thin hooks with well-defined handles and pivots, each hooklet having a projecting rounded “heel”. The anchors possess well-developed roots and a strongly straightened, sabre-like point that is open. There is only one straight dorsal bar, with significantly widened lateral ends and a slightly widened middle section.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
The parasite is host-specific and an obligate parasite of cyprinid fishes. It is distributed in Bangladesh as a freshwater gill parasite of cyprinid fishes.
