The insect is small, measuring between 1.5 and 2 millimeters. Its eyes are red, and the head is yellowish, lacking any distinctive markings on the vertex or frons. The pronotum is characterized by five large and conspicuous black spots: two at the base of the midpronotum, two at the lateral angle, and a similar one in the apical portion. The corium, a part of the forewing, has punctures with small dots in the basal portion, while the hemelytra (forewings) display very few spots. This species is typically found in stagnant waters such as ponds and lakes, particularly among aquatic vegetation.
