The snake exhibits an olive-brown hue as its base color, adorned with black streaks and blotches, along with a line of small yellow or white dots on each side of its body. Distinctive black streaks extend downwards and backwards from the eye. Juvenile specimens display a notable yellow marking on their necks, which diminishes with maturity. The eyes are large.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
This species is commonly found in slow-moving rivers and streams, marshes, swamps, flooded rice fields, ponds, lakes, and ditches. In Bangladesh, it occurs in Matamuhuri, Bandarban.
Environment:
Freshwater, terrestrial.
Comments:
It is a semi-aquatic species and its diet primarily consisting of frogs and fish.
