Description:
The Eurasian otter has a stout, elongated body with short legs and a robust tail. Its head is rounded and flattened, with small, low-set, round ears and wide-set, round eyes. The neck is thick and short, comparable in width to the head.The feet are webbed, and the claws are strong and well-developed.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
It is found in diverse aquatic habitats such as rivers, streams, lakes, swamps, marshes, rice fields, swamp forests, and coastal wetlands. In Bangladesh, it is known to inhabit wetland habitats in Greater Sylhet, Greater Mymensingh, and the Chittagong Hill Tracts.

Freshwater, brackish.
