Description:
The body is stout, with a small head and short, rounded snout. Its dorsal side is typically dark brown, occasionally adorned with irregular yellowish-brown markings. There’s a narrow dark stripe along the sides, extending from behind the eye to near the groin. This stripe is bordered by a thick yellow or orange stripe, sometimes interrupted by several spots. The belly shows a mottled pattern of dirty yellowish-brown.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
It is found in wetlands, along riverbanks, forest floor, and in agricultural and residential areas. In Bangladesh, it is found in the mixed-evergreen forests of east, northeast and southeast region.
