Description:
It has 4 pairs of barbels. Body is elongated and compressed. Adipose fin is very small. Caudal fin is forked. Body coloration: A dark horizontal mark across the tympanum; greenish yellow colouration over the body.

Inhabit rivers and ponds in plains and submontane regions in flowing and standing waters.
