Description:
The head is short and broad with a blunt snout. The dorsal skin, along with the thigh and tibia, is granulated, while the ventral skin is smooth. A transverse fold exists between the lower portions of the eyes. The eyes are large with rounded pupils, and the tympanum is hidden. The forelimbs are short with free fingers, and the tips of the fingers are swollen, forming distinct discs. The first finger is slightly shorter than the second. The hindlimbs are long with toes that are almost fully webbed, but the webbing does not quite reach the discs of the first and fifth toes.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
It inhabits small, still waters and slow-moving waters in tropical moist forests. In Bangladesh, it is found in the hilly areas of the northeast and southeast regions and common in and around Madhabkunda area.
