Description:
Daphnia pulex possess folded, shell-like carapaces. Their bodies, which range from 0.2 to 3.0 millimeters in length, lack clear segmentation. The head houses a dark compound eye along with numerous antennae. They feature delicate teeth on their claws. Their thorax typically bears four to six pairs of flattened legs covered in fine hairs. Reproduction occurs through parthenogenesis.

Commonly found in the rivers, lakes, haors, and other fresh waterbodies of Bangladesh.
