Description:
It possesses elongated trailing stems and features distinct, nearly equilateral triangular leaves. The stems are characterized by a pinkish-red hue, are jointed, and adorned with curved prickles. It tends to create a dense mat of vegetation on the ground or climbs over other plants, obstructing light and leading to their demise. Its roots are small and shallow. Its flowers are typically small, white, and often inconspicuous.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
It thrives in moist, shaded areas near wooded areas, wetlands, and stream banks. In Bangladesh, it can be found in Rangpur, Khulna, Sylhet, and Dhaka districts.
