Description:
This perennial aquatic herb features leaves that are narrowly peltate to orbicular-ovate, with strongly sinuate-dentate margins and lobes ending in an acuminate angle. Its sweet-scented flowers bloom nearly all day, with acute sepals that are green outside and purplish-blue inside, and narrowly elliptic, sky-blue petals. The numerous stamens are arranged in many series, with dark blue appendages and dark crimson-violet anthers.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
It tusually in freshwater ponds, lakes and occasionally in brackish water. This species is widespread across Bangladesh.
